What is Woven?

Minimize
Woven: past participle of to weave; function: verb
~ to interlace (as threads) into cloth; to make (as a basket) by intertwining
~ to produce by elaborately combining elements
~ to unite in a coherent whole

Strands of anything united together can be referred to as Woven. Calling our ministry among women here at Fellowship Bible Church, Woven conveys the relational culture we long to express with each other, and extend to the isolated world that surrounds us. We believe God intends for us to be interrelated such that a visible tapestry of God's goodness is on display for our good and His glory.

Woven is the Ministry Among Women at Fellowship Bible Church. Our purpose is to connect, encourage and equip women to engage their world with genuine spiritual life.

Woven Culture

Minimize
The highest priority of Woven is cultivating a culture that reflects the heart and mission of God. Four characteristics reflect the kind of culture we envision for this relational community . . . one that is loving, authentic, developmental and catalytic.

Loving - Second only to loving God, we are called to love on another . . . our neighbor as ourselves. The single most important quality we hope to be evident throughout Woven is love . . . tangible expressions of enduring presence, care, kindness and guidance.

Authentic - God has revealed Himself truly through creation, through His Word and through His Son and Spirit. As His people, we are called to strive for relational authenticity with each other . . . to "speak the truth in love" as members of one body.

Developmental - Growth and change require great intentionality and are inseparable from the Christian life. While no one ever "arrives" in this lifetime, our culture is to be characterized by individual and collective movement toward greater maturity in Christ.

Catalytic - Christian belief is not passive, but an intensely active response to the loving initiative of God. Our response to Him involves taking the initiative relationally with each other as beautifully diverse partners in His redemptive mission.

Woven: Environments

Minimize
Cultural cultivation takes place in various relational environments. We've identified three that represent the most common among our community of women . . . prayer, study and support. Each of these environments offers unique yet complimentary opportunities for women to pursue relational intimacy and missional fruitfulness.

Prayer - God's people are invited and called to engage Him corporately in prayer. This environment will facilitate various activities of intercession, supplication and thanksgiving.

Study - God has revealed Himself through His Word and we have the privilege of seeking Him with each other through the exploration and discussion of what He has revealed. The focus of this environment will be on understanding and applying the truth of God's Word in the context of community.

Support - The circumstances of life have a way of exposing areas of need in all of us. Support environments offer short and long-term opportunities to relationally share need-specific resources.

Woven: Leadership

Minimize
A team of women - including our Women's Ministry Pastor, Jenny Rone - collaboratively oversee the culture and environments associated with Woven. They are not responsible for leading everything that takes place among the women of Fellowship, but serve to ensure that Woven in as fruitful as available resouces allow it to be. This team serves under the elder oversight of Art Snow.

Every woman at Fellowship is a part of Woven. Woven is not a women's group but is a ministry among women. As women move between seasons and phases of life, time and ways to be involved changes. As part of the body of Christ, we all have parts to play and it looks different for each woman. We are here to serve you and help you find a place to serve out of your gifts, passions and time. If you are looking for a place to serve or just want to be a part, please let us know by contacting Jenny. Click here to email her.
