| TITLE: Designing Your Spiritual Fitness Plan 2010 |
POSTING DATE: 1/27/2010
|
|
New Year's resolutions...Don't you love them? January is a great time to think differently about our lives because we have a sense of hope that we can change and grow. This year can be different. And with God's help and some intentionality, it can! So at the beginning of 2010, we want to take some time as a church to develop a spiritual fitness plan that makes sense with your own season of life, unique experiences and design, and areas you need to grow. But like almost everything in life, unless we make a plan to do it, it won't happen. The busyness of life crowds God and his Word out. If you attend this seminar, you will walk with some practical suggestions about how to grow in your relationship with God this year. It could be a year that you will never forget.

| TITLE: Who Really Invented Christianity - Part I |
POSTING DATE: 3/25/2009
|
|
Speaker: Jonathan Morrow
Notes
Every Easter new releases hit the bookstores, provocative documentaries spring up on CNN and the Discovery channel, and special additions appear from Newsweek. The common theme? What else have “they” not been telling you about who Jesus really was or what Christianity really teaches?
- How do we know the Bible includes the right books?
- Did the early church invent Jesus’ divinity or did Jesus really claim to be divine?
- What did Christians believe before there was a Bible?
- Who got to decide what is ‘orthodox’ and what is ‘heresy’?
- Why didn’t Jesus write a book?
These are good questions. But contrary to the answers that show up in much of pop culture today about Jesus, a careful look at the historical evidence surrounding the origins of Christianity reveals that we can trust the writings of the New Testament and what they teach about the historical Jesus. Please join our equipping pastor, Jonathan Morrow, as we embark on a journey back to the 1st century to discover the truth.

| TITLE: Soul School - Learning From Jesus How to Live - Part 1 |
POSTING DATE: 2/25/2009

Speaker: Jonathan Morrow
“A student is not above his teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like his teacher.”—Luke 6:40
In this seminar, we will explore what it means to view Jesus as our Teacher. How was Jesus able to do what he did? What did he think about? What practices and priorities did he arrange his life around? What does it look like 'to train' for the 'Jesus way of life'? Being a disciple means becoming like our Teacher. The fundamental question you and I have to answer each day is...does Jesus know what he is talking about?

| TITLE: Faith, Doubt, adn the Christian Life Part 1 |

Speaker: Jonathan Morrow
Real Christians don’t doubt. Or at least that’s the unspoken message you’ll find in most churches today. Well, if that’s true then I guess I’m not a real Christian because I’ve had (and still have) my share of doubts! But what is doubt? Can I have doubts and ‘walk by faith’? What is faith? Is it a blind leap against the evidence? Being alone with our doubts is exhausting and no fun, but how do we work through them? Having the courage to doubt our doubts will lead to greater confidence as followers of Jesus.
“Doubt is not the opposite of faith, nor is it the same as unbelief. Doubt is a state of mind in suspension between faith and unbelief so that it is neither of them wholly and it is each only partly....So while doubt is a state of suspension between faith and unbelief, unbelief is a state of mind that is closed against God, an attitude of the heart that disobeys God as much as it disbelieves the truth. Unbelief is the result of a settled choice.”--Os Guinness
